Chapter 13-The Brain

The scripture teaches that God created us in his image
or likeness. Reading from Genesis 1: 26:

“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And
let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and the
birds of the heavens and the livestock and all the earth
and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

God planted in mankind the emotions such as desire, faith,
love, emphasis, and hope. In addition, he gave the emotion
of sex as a driving energy to be used physically for the
perpetuation of mankind, maintenance of health, and especially
to be used with the other emotions as a transformation of
mediocrity into genius through transmutation. All this came
from the mind of God and was placed in the mind of man.

“God gave you a brain, so use it!” These words were
spoken by parents, teachers, and even some bosses, and more
often than not, they were used as a question more than as a fact.

Mr. Hill shows it as a fact on which we can hang our hats.
He begins with the fact that the human brain is both a
broadcasting and receiving station for the vibration of
thought.

“Through the medium of the ether, in a fashion similar to
that employed by the radio broadcasting principle, every
human brain is capable of picking up vibrations of thought
which are being released by other brains. When stimulated,
or “stepped up” to a high rate of vibration, the mind
becomes more receptive to the vibration of thought which
reaches it through the ether from outside sources.”
Napoleon Hill

This “stepped up” comes through the emotions we use, whether
positive or negative, or through the emotions or energy, we
receive from the minds of others, again positive or negative.
This shows the deep importance of doing our self-talk every
day. This is the very reason is stress the importance of
repeating our self-talk 100’s or 1000’s times daily.

The importance of repetition can be illustrated in the making
of butter or homemade ice cream. To make fresh butter or ice
cream you start with fresh milk or heavy cream. Then comes
the real work the cream must be churned constantly. If you stop
too soon you will still have just whipped milk or just butter
milk. But, if it’s the butter or fresh ice cream you want, you
must churn over and over and over until the transformation happens.

This holds true when planting the positive emotions given to us
into the subconscious mind. It is only through the constant churning
in saying our self-talk that we can block those negative emotions
which are ever ready to take over.

Thanks to all of you on this Think and Grow Rich lesson for being
