According to Hill,  “It is said we can create anything we can imagine.  Based on history I have studied and my time on this earth, most great accomplishments started by the imagination.

Been a while since I used a sports analogy.  Colonel George Robert Hall was a Naval academy graduate where he was also the Captain of the Golf team.  Hall had a golf handicap of four, which is not too shabby. After graduating from the Academy Hall took his commission and became a pilot.  Eventually Hall was sent to Vietnam.  His plane was shot down over North Vietnam and he became a resident of the infamous Hanoi Hilton for approximately seven and a half years.  Prisoners of War in Hanoi were tortured mentally and physically, starved, and kept in solidarity confinement in tiny cells.

Hall like all residents of Hanoi had plenty of time think.  Hall thought about his golf game.  Hall thought about a successful round of golf. This includes the shirt, pants and shoes he wore, each hole, what club he would use, and elements of nature such as the wind.

Hall did the unthinkable.  Within six weeks after his release, Hall was invited to play in the Greater New Orleans P.O.W. Pro Am open.  Hall shot a round of plus four strokes.

This was after, Hall lost approximately one hundred pound of body weight, which included quite a bit of muscle mass and had not touched a golf club or hit a ball.

How did this happen, Hall imagined playing golf day after day.

Many of us could learn a thing or two from Colonel Hall.  Successfully completing endurance sporting events requires a few things.  First is intense physical training, which is time consuming, tiring, and can at times be uncomfortable.  Second is mental toughness.  One needs both to succeed, along with desire.

I am usually more successful when I imagine the event.  I plan to think about Colonel Robert Hall the next year or so, while getting ready to participate in an Ironman event.

Imagine myself from getting dressed, getting in the water for the swim, biking the course, and running the marathon at the end.

Many world changing business endeavors began with someone’s imagination.  Hill talks about the enchanted Kettle, where an old country Doctor sold a large kettle, paddle, and a recipe to a pharmacy clerk.  The pharmacy clerk paid his entire savings of five hundred dollars to the country doctor.  The doctor was happy, because this enabled him to pay of his debts and have some piece of mind.

From this the one of the largest household names in history, Coca Cola was formed.   Coca Cola today employs hundreds of thousands of people with annual revenues of thirty three billion dollars.  This all started with imagination.

Some other notable examples are Apple Computer, where the late Steve Jobs and his partner imagined a personal computer in homes across America and the world.

Herb Kelligher an attorney from Texas bought into the idea of an airline that had quick turn around, simple seating assignments and few gimmicks and reasonably priced tickets.  Today South West Airlines is one of the most notable Airlines around.   I always see about flying South West Airlines first when I go somewhere domestically.

The development, growth, and success of South West Airlines started with Kelleher’s imagination.

I will still fly Southwest Airlines regardless of what happened last week where thousands of flights were cancelled due to a walk out.  I was delayed in Chicago by a day, but that is okay.  I never had any problems with South West Airlines before and I respect their staff’s reasons and logic for the walkout. Enough Said.

Network Marketing is a simple, logical, and amazing concept, but it is not easy.  Very few people become successful in network marketing.  This has nothing to do with the concept and there are plenty of five pillar companies out there.

People fail because they don’t have the desire, determination, faith, and belief in themselves.  They, as well need to imagine their success in the business. They need to imagine themselves walking on stage, speaking to an audience, and helping enhance other people’s lives.  In turn they will see the checks coming in regardless if they are working or not.

You cannot have it, if you do not imagine yourself succeeding.
