CHAPTER 1 The Man Who “Thought” His Way
Into Partnership with Thomas Edison

From the beginning of this universe, everything started with a thought.
It was a thought from God that start this world we now call home. “In
the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 I am
not concerned with the how of creation, just to the fact, God thought it
and it happened.

“Truly, “thoughts are things,” and powerful things at that, when they
are mixed with definiteness of purpose, persistence, and a Burning Desire
for their translation into riches, or other material objects.” Napoleon Hill

How many times have I sat in a room listening to a speaker talking about
an opportunity to have my own business? Stating I could start with a small
amount of money, and in my part-time, I could turn it into a fortune. I
watch those circle beginning drawn on a board that made seem so simple. Yes,
he gave all the facts, figures, and hype, and all I had to do is call all my
family, friends, neighbors, gardener, and everyone I meet,  and just pitch
them about joining my business.

I followed his plan and discovered that most of the time it just does not
work and all I found has fewer people to talk to. I felt and thought there
has got to be a better way.

Edwin Barnes, who thought, “I will be in business with Thomas Edison.” He
converted that thought into a burning desire and back it with action, His
action started with burning the bridges, excuses, and pressed forward. He
was willing to do whatever it takes even if it is the smallest task or how long it takes.

“Whatever it takes for you to find your freedom, that’s what you’ve to live!”
Byron Katie

Like Barnes, I choose to do “wherever it takes” for as long it takes to
achieve the desire of having the network business. Every day a door is
placed before me and my choice is to step through and make no excuse.

Little minds say, “I can’t” “I too old” “It’s taking too long”. I choose
to have a huge mind like Barnes, take action, get on the train, meet
the man, state my intend, have patience, and go for it.

My action is the do the little thing every day consistently, to go where
my desire takes me, take the wisdom and use it of those who have done the
work before me, burning all my excuses, and live the dream that awaits me
in this business.
