Chapter 13-The Brain: A Broadcasting and
Receiving Station for Thought

“It has been observed that every human brain is both a
broadcasting and receiving station for the vibration of
thought. Through the medium of the ether, in a fashion
similar to that employed by the radio broadcasting
principle, every human brain is capable of picking up
vibrations of thought which are being released by other
brains.” Napoleon Hill

Operation of your mental “broadcasting” station is a
comparatively simple procedure. You have but three
principles to bear in mind, and to apply when you wish
to use your broadcasting station—the subconscious mind,
creative imagination, and auto-suggestion.
The stimuli
through which you put these three principles into action
have been described—the procedure begins with desire.

When stimulated, or “stepped up” to a high rate of
vibration, the mind becomes more receptive to the
vibration of thought which reaches it through the
ether from outside sources. This “stepping up” process
takes place through the positive emotions or the
negative emotions. Through the emotions, the vibrations
of thought may be increased.

It is amazing the more I read Think and Grow Rich the
clearer the picture becomes to the role that all emotions
play in the human psyche. In this chapter, we are presented
to the brain. Even though all mammals have a brain, it is
we as humans that are stimulated by emotions. Sure all
animals have some form of desire. Most have the desire of
hunger, sleep, security, and yes to mate. Only we humans
have been given the ability to create or moved desires to
a higher level, as Hill says “to a high rate of vibration.

The psalmist wrote, “Thank you for making me so wonderfully
complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as
I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was
recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a
single day had passed. Psalms 139:14-16

Just think, with my brain, I can take any desire and step it
up to bright white-hot. Plant desire into my subconscious
mind, stir up the creative juices (imagination) and with the
right self-talk (auto-suggestions) anything is possible. It
is where my human emotions play a big role. I am on the stage
of life wherein walks the characters called emotions, and
all I must choose who I am, where I am going, to whom am I
going to listen.

“You can't change who you are, but you can change what you
have in your head, you can refresh what you're thinking about,
you can put some fresh air in your brain.” Ernesto Bertarelli

In the brain and deep in the subconscious mind are a storehouse
of recorded data, files, and messages on which all those
emotions are stored.  My choice is to which will I listen, the
negatives full of “I can’t”, or “I will just try”, or “what will
my family, friend, or teachers said”,  all of which are just the
placing of defeat upfront. Or do you decide to replace the past
recordings with new emotions of desire, faith, love, sex,
enthusiasm, romance, hope, and prosperity?

Thanks to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for opening the door to real
power when the brain is properly focused. I am grateful that here
at Mentoring for Free I learned I do not have to relive the past
but see the better days ahead. I have learned to “Waste no tears
over yesterday’s grief.”
