Do you believe in ghosts? Evidently, we have them lurking around us daily like dead black sludge. Do you see them? They are conveniently hidden in the bony suitcase of our minds. These are the enemies we carry with us which push, and push, and push against us to destroy our success. Hill names the 6 most common and dangerous ghosts and points out that 3 fallback habits we may have cultivated will bury us deeper and deeper in the ground of any of these 6 ghost’s graveyards. They revel in destroying our success in this life.
So now we are at the point that we have to make some changes in our lives. Since these ghosts are not in an actual suitcase that we might be able to toss into a trash can, but are deeply hidden in the thoughts of our minds, we have to clean out our minds first. As we admit that we are slaves to them, we can begin to remove them from our tightly packed brains.
Though our brain is more protected from injury than any other part of our bodies, we have to put armed soldiers at the doors of the brain so thoughts which lead to fear can’t slide in through our eyes and our ears. We are the custodians of our mind.
Possibly the best way to start is to look at the 3 habits we may have cultivated…INDICISION, DOUBT and FEAR itself. Think about it, I am a green and mull thoughts around a long time, then very slowly make decisions. I have hated the fact that not ONE of Hill’s successful people make decisions slowly. For me, I now see that I can still look at the good and bad points of a decision I have to make AND THEN I can stay with it until I have made that decision quickly. How to YOU make decisions?
Habit number 2 is doubt. This is not a problem for me as I have decided that I will be successful in Network Marketing. With the aid of Mentoring For Free, I see it is possible and look at a sign on my wall that Taquittee shared in her lesson weeks ago. “This world is not divided up between the successful and unsuccessful, it is divided up between the people who quit and those who refused to quit.” I believe if we refuse to quit and don’t let the difficulty of the race stop us, we can remove doubt.
Habit number 3 is Fear itself. I don’t think of it as one of the 6 fears Hill names as the most common pitfalls for us, but I think it describes people who meet all experiences and choices in life with fear. It goes back to the first habit…Indecision. I’m sure you can all notice people you know or meet during the day who are driven by fear. This can be fear instilled by the media, fear of Corvid, Fear of crumbling relationships or fear for our safety and the safety of our families. If we walk around fearing everything we see or hear, it will be visible in our walking, our eyes, our body posture, our actions and our decisions.
These habits are the tools which Hill points out that we can CHANGE and move the direction of our lives away from those 6 basic common fears. For me, it helps a great deal to know that this life is overseen by God, or Infinite Intelligence. Circumstances will change, historical patterns will be run over & over between governments and sickness will come and go. These things do NOT define our success in our lives. As we continue to recognize and overcome how these 3 negative habits work in our lives, WE WILL BE SUCCESSFUL
