Chapter 4- Autosuggestion: The Medium
for Influencing the Subconscious Mind
“No Thought, whether it be negative or positive, can enter the
subconscious mind without the aid of the principle of auto-
suggestion, with the exception of thoughts, picked up from the
ether. Stated differently, all sense impressions which are
perceived through the five senses, are stopped by the conscious
thinking mind, and maybe either passed on to the subconscious
mind or rejected, at will. The conscious faculty serves,
therefore, as an outer guard to the approach of the subconscious."
I have been given the responsibility to feed my subconscious mind.
The choice is mine whether with thoughts of a creative nature or
purposely or by neglect, permit thoughts of a destructive nature to
find their way into this rich garden of my mind.
On Thursday, most Americans will be gathering around tables filled
with an abundance of all types of food. Many of them may be faced
with a dilemma of what and how much to eat. They have a choice to
make wise decisions on what to eat, how much to eat, and whether
to eat pumpkin or pecan pie or both. They could also throw caution
to the wind being unwise and overindulge put themselves on a guilt
trip on the day afterward.
With the conscious mind, we can repeatedly inform our subconscious
mind “I am eating healthier this year. “I am making wise choices on
what I am eating, the size of my portions, and the limitations I am
taking. I am enjoying being satisfied with what I have before me.”
Such is the power of self-talk in all aspects of my life. Hill said,
“Your ability to use the principle of auto-suggestion will depend,
very largely, upon your capacity to concentrate upon a given desire
until that desire becomes a burning obsession." Whether it be coming
to a meal, build relationships, networking a business, being the best
person I can be, and calling upon the abundance which awaits me, using
the power of self-talk to concentrate upon what I desire and fan it
to a burning obsession is the path which will lead to the results I seek.
Intelligence and talent are not enough to attract and retain money.
Occasionally the law of averages may favor the attraction of money
through resourcefulness. I choose not to depend upon the law of
averages. The practice of self-talk has proven it will work for one
person as effectively as it will for another. I have no doubt, Edwin
Barnes spoke to himself many times every day something like, “I am
in a successful partnership with Thomas Edison.” Or like the young
black girl saying, “I am getting that 50 cents for my Mammy!”
It is now my turn to repeating say, “I am having fun building a
successful network marketing business easily and consistently though
attracting anyone and anything I desire.”
Many thanks to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for showing and living out
the power of self-talk. I appreciate everyone who participates in the
weekly calls sharing your brilliance.
