The late Jim Rohn famously said, “We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.”  It took me a long time to accept this and realize that there is validity to this statement.   Therefore it is wise to choose who you hang out with the majority of your time.

We get involved in building a conventional or network marketing business with the intention of have more control of our finances and freedom.  Some of us come from environments that are full of negative energy because of the amount of negative people: folks that sit around who make excuses for not achieving prosperity, blaming somebody else for their failures or both.  At this time I see examples of this more than ever.  Not from my friends and most family members, but the politicians, celebrities, and mainstream media.  They focus on the negative for one reason.  This crap sells!   Michael advises us to limit are time and energy on paying attention.

I certainly feel better when I limit my time viewing the news, watching primetime television and now I have essentially boycotted the NFL and NBA.  These individuals are paid to entertain us not to lecture us.  The reason I bring this up is this stuff can mentally exhaust us.  In other words our energy source becomes low so we have limited power.

Hill states that, “Power is essential for success in the accumulation of money. Plans are inert and useless without sufficient power to translate them into action.” One needs power to make this work.

The way we get the most power to move forward is by the association of people that are around us.    Andrew Carnegie surrounded himself with a group of approximately fifty individuals which purpose pertained to the manufacturing and marketing of steel. This was Carnegie’s Mastermind team.  The same goes for Henry Ford.  A number of intellectual elitists labeled Ford as illiterate and ignorant. Ford, however, aligned himself with great minds such as Edison, Burroughs, and Firestone. Ford changed revolutionized the automobile industry and became very wealthy in the process.  I can safely say that Ford laughed his way to the bank!

Anyone can have success here and there flying solo.  The same goes for an outstanding athlete on a lousy team.  Michael Jordan was a superstar who stood out on his first game in the NBA as a Chicago Bull. The Bull’s, however, won limited games during his early years.  Jordan could not play every position in every game.  Eventually a support cast was built around Jordan with players such as Scottie Pippin.  In turn the Bulls won six NBA Championships during Jordan’s career in Chicago.

The same goes for any massive business venture in terms of minds.  Carnegie, Ford, and multiple billionaires made it big because they had a team of minds around them.  These minds need to work together supporting the mission at hand and moving in the same direction.  This was the case in the past. Is the case in the present and will be in the future!

Network Marketing is no different.  The few that make cross the big stage in this industry don’t do this alone.  They are coachable, dedicated, and most are part of a five-pillar company.  They, as well associate with positive people. This can be someone in their up line or folks involved with other five pillar companies.  They learn from others who have gone ahead of them and been successful at what they are working to achieve.

As said at the beginning we are an average of the five people we spend the most time with.  In other words you probably won’t become successful if you spend a majority of your free time at the neighborhood watering hole.  I won’t deny I spent enough time in the chug a lug, and did not learn much about financial freedom.

Mentoring for Free is the perfect place to same road as us hang with folks who are on the same road.  In other words it is our Master Mind Team.  Thank you Michael And Linda Dloughy for this program. Thank you Rick Burnett for reaching out to me.  Thank you to everyone who participates on these weekly calls.

First Corinthians Chapter twelve verse Number ten.

The Spirit gives one person the power to work miracles: to another, the gift of speaking God’s Message; and to yet another, the ability to tell the difference between gifts that come from the Spirit and those that do not. To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what he said.
