Chapter 4 - Auto-Suggestion

Hill writes "all sense impressions which are perceived through the
five senses, are stopped by the CONSCIOUS thinking mind,
and may be either passed on to the subconscious mind, or
rejected, at will. The conscious faculty serves, therefore,
as an outer-guard to the approach of the subconscious."

In other words, we all have a guard that allows or does not
allow any thought or sense impression to enter our subconscious
mind.  Do we tell our guard what to not allow and what to allow
or do we trust the guard to know on its own what we will allow.

Did we train the guard or did the guard train us?

Here at Mentoring for Free and these Think & Grow Rich Lessons
are the training ground; but no training works unless we are
present, persistent and aware.

Malcolm Gladwell stated "Take the great example of the four-minute mile.
One guy breaks it, then all of a sudden everyone breaks it. And they break
it in such a short period of time that it can't be because they were training
harder. It's purely that it was a psychological barrier, and someone
had to show them that they could do it."

We see that happening here on these calls all the time.  Someone
joins, posts lessons and participates and we begin to see the growth
in that person and the person begins to feel it too.

Arnold Schwarzenegger said "What we face may look insurmountable. But I
learned something from all those years of training and competing. I learned
something from all those sets and reps when I didn't think I could lift another
ounce of weight. What I learned is that we are always stronger than
we know."

Scott Adams stated "We don't always have an accurate view of our own potential.
I think most people who are frightened of public speaking and can't imagine they might
feel different as a result of training. Don't assume you know how much
potential you have. Sometimes the only way to know what you can do is to
test yourself."

Test yourself. Train the guard.  Be on the calls, post a lesson every week, participate and
see how far and how much stronger mentally we can become.
