CHAPTER 3 Faith: Visualization of
And Belief in Attainment of Desire

“The method by which one develops faith, where it does not already
exist, is extremely difficult to describe, almost as difficult, in
fact, as it would be to describe the color of red to a blind man who
has never seen color and has nothing with which to compare what you
describe to him. Faith is a state of mind which you may develop at
will, after you have mastered the thirteen principles, because it
is a state of mind which develops voluntarily, through application
and use of these principles.” Napoleon Hill

What is faith? Today, some people use the word “faith” to mean
“believing something without evidence. Even Mark Twain famously
said, “Faith is believin’ in what you know ain’t true.”

Real Faith Isn’t Blind!

“Faith is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by
affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind,
through the principle of autosuggestion.” Napoleon Hill

You have heard the story of Charles Blondin, who walking from
one side to the other of Niagara fall, pushing a wheelbarrow full
of rocks. If you had been there you would have seen his amazing
ability not just once, but over and over again. Finally, he asked,
"Do you have faith that I could do it again?” You reply, “Of course I
have faith you could do it again. I’ve seen you do it all day,” and then
he dumps the rocks out. He says, “Okay, climb in the wheelbarrow.”

Do you get it? Faith is not merely intellectual assent. You believe
based on evidence and stepping into the wheelbarrow is active trust.
So. faith is putting your trust in something based on evidence that
is how trust works. I trust Connie more today than when I married
her nearly 51 years ago. Why? Because she’s given me more reason,
or evidence, over the last decades to put my trust in her.

Napoleon Hill placed before us in this chapter as well of all the
other chapters the evidence of principals that have work and will
still work today. After reviewing the success of over 500 men he
revealed the 13 principles that took them to the pinnacle of their
chosen field. Hill even posted the reason 10 of 1000’s failed to
reach their goals which for most has not following the evidence
leading to the faith to get and stay in the wheelbarrow.

Now is the time for me to practice real faith get on the evidence
filled wheelbarrow of networking marketing and take that trip across
the waterfall of fears and doubts. And thanks to Mentoring for Free
I have found the skills, tools, and courage to keep going.

Thank you, Linda and Michael Dlouhy, for putting your faith in action.
Many thanks to all my family here at Mentoring for Free for your
support, encouragement, and love show every week

Love to all of you
