Thoughts Are Things

Thoughts are powerful and can become reality regardless if positive or negative.  If positive with a purpose and burning desire for success this can translate into money, material goods, and all the other things that come with a blessed life.   The other way is stinking thinking, which will take you nowhere positive. You certainly will not become a self-made individual of wealth.

The only way to become wealthy is if you either win the lottery or inherit the money.  Then there is a good chance you will be back in poverty and desperation within a few years, because you never developed the millionaire mindset.  The same happens to many professional athletes.  Their god given ability helps get them to the pinnacle of their sport endeavor, but they may blow it all if they never learn the proper money management skills and never learn the positive mindset of wealth.

Everything begins with a mindset.  Edwin C. Barnes was Hill's first Example in Think and Grow Rich.  His wealth did not happen overnight.  He, however, had the positive thought and burning desire.  He decided that he was going to be in business with Thomas Edison, whom he never met or had any connections to get there.   He did not have the money or presentable clothing to even get to Edison who was located in New Jersey.

This did not stop him, however, he got to New Jersey by jumping a freight train.  He went to Edison's lab and the introduction was he was going into business with him.  Edison later said that Barnes was nothing special on the outside; he was not sharp looking in in way.  Edison, however, saw that Barnes had a desire, so he offered him employment.   This employment consisted of menial grunt type work.   This went on for quite sometime, but Barnes never complained or felt sorry for him.   He was there to go into business with Edison and would stay until this happened.

One day the opportunity presented itself.  Edison had developed a new dictating machine called the Ediphone.   Edison's sales team was not excited at all about selling this.  At this time Barnes stepped up to the plate and was confident he could sell the machines with success.  He was so successful that Edison gave Barnes the contract to distribute the machines all over the Country.    This all began with positive thoughts and a burning desire.

This reminds me of Daniel Rudy Ruettiger whom from the time he was little had a desire to play football for the University of Notre Dame. He was not the best athlete, was small, and did not excel academically.  Later they found out that he was dyslexic. He, however, was determined that he was going to play for the Irish.  Just as Barnes showed up in New Jersey, Rudy went on blind faith from the Chicago Suburb to South Bend Indiana.  He enrolled in a community college for two years, cut grass, and finally was accepted to Notre Dame.  He then went to the walk on tryouts.  Rudy made the practice squad.  Not because showed talent, but he showed desire.   Rudy got to play a bit and was the last player carried of the field for several years anyway.

Like Barnes this all began with his thought life.

These are just a few examples of folks that got where they were which began with positive and confident thinking.  This applies to Sports, Business, and anything that requires a lot of work and dedication!

The same is no different for Network Marketing.  Every person who has achieved a high level and is on stage is would not be there if they did not have positive thoughts and see themselves succeeding. Every one of them has had challenges, set backs, and may even have moments of doubt.  It’s their consistent thought life that drove them through those dark days.  Otherwise they would have quit.   Barnes, Rudy, and achievers like Mike Dloughy never gave up and never stopped.

Romans Chapter twelve verse number two.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
