“Fears are nothing more than states of mind. One's state
of mind is subject to control and direction.” Napoleon Hill

Just as the country was in the jaws of the overwhelming of
poverty due to the depression of the “30s in Hill’s days,
we have witnessed that same reaction by most people to the
exasperating fear of illness, death, and poverty most of
this year. Yes, there a need to be cautious, follow good
hygiene habits, and avoid being around where this virus is
most likely found. But to be locked up with these ghosts
of fear which are figments of the imagination is a condemnation
brought upon oneself.

I look to the first responders, medical workers, doctors who
run to the problem, facing it head-on who are less subject
to attack by disease than ordinary laymen. Why are they able?
THEY DO NOT FEAR DISEASE. Their immunity against the disease
consisted, largely, if not solely, in their absolute lack of fear.

There is an adage “Starve a Cold, Feed a Fever.” The reason is
fasting causes a drop in body temperature, which helps to fight
a high fever, while eating raises your temperature, warming you
up if you have a cold and keeping your sniffles at bay. The same
hold true with these ghosts of fear, stop feeding the anxieties,
feasting on the negativity of what if, and jumping on the bandwagon
of indecision, doubts, and fear. It will drop the urge to fall into
the traps of fear and drive the ghosts of those fears away.

Remember Hill wrote, “Nature has endowed man with absolute control
over but one thing, and that is thought. This fact, coupled with the
additional fact that everything which man creates, begins in the form
of a thought, leads one very near to the principle by which fear may
be mastered.” Control our thoughts we control our lives. Just know a
jump to conclusion when control by fear will only result in putting
our lives in the pits.

The best advice Hill gave us is to “protect yourself against negative

“To protect yourself against negative influences, whether of your own
making, or the result of the activities of negative people around you,
recognize that you have a will-power, and put it into constant use until
it builds a wall of immunity against negative influences in your own
mind.”Napoleon Hill

Hill put before us a method for testing ourselves to if we allowing fear
and its partner the “old man of worry” to control our thoughts or are we
have taken the reigns of our thoughts. His self-analysis test is like
having a bulldozer against the indecisions, the doubts, and fear. As Hill
says, “If you have answered all these questions truthfully, you know more
about yourself than the majority of people.”

I now choose to follow the path of driving through these ghosts of fear.
I choose to heed the words of Shakespeare:

“This above all: to thine own self be true
And it must follow, as the night the day
Thou canst not then be false to any man.”

This is the truth I have gained from being here at Mentoring for Free, not
to give in to the ghosts of fear, being honest to myself, in my
relationships, and travel the right path with sincerity.

Thanks to Linda and Michael Dlouhy. all the mentors, and you who have
partnered with me in this mastermind. Your support and encouragement
aides me in driving back those ghosts of fear and achieve the victory
life has for all of us.

My love to all
