“The human mind is a form of energy, a part of it being spiritual in nature. When the minds of two people are coordinated in a SPIRIT OF HARMONY, the spiritual units of energy of each mind form an affinity, which constitutes the “psychic” phase of the Master Mind.” Napoleon Hill.
Just as a V-8 engine with eight cylinders has more horse power than a V-6 with 6 cylinders, both have more horse power than 1 single horse. Similarly, “a group of brains coordinated (or connected) in a spirit of harmony, will provide more thought-energy than a single brain,” Napoleon Hill
.Today, we participate in a mastermind group, joining together to learn how to think and focus to improve our lives financially and in many other ways. Similarly, there are many incidences when groups have focused together in prayer on behalf of a person who has an illness. One such person is Jackie Williams, Author of “Healing is mine, End of Discussion.”
In her early 30’s, Jackie woke up one night with an abnormal heartbeat, which was diagnosed as atrial fibrillation. She had been suffering for some time from being out of breath, extreme tiredness and was unable to sleep. That night her situation was so severe that she was rushed to the emergency room and knew she was close to dying. She did survive and decided to change her life. The changes included changing her diet, removing toxic people from her life and finding a “church home.”
Then, not wanting to be dependent on medication, she decided to have an ablation, a medical procedure that was supposed to stop the irregular heart rhythm. She told members of the church she was attending that she was going to go through with the procedure and they prayed for her.
She says, “Before the procedure, my doctor told me to stop taking the medicine. He wanted my heart to go into start beating irregularly, so they would know exactly where the problem was and fix it. When the procedure was over, groggy from the anesthesia, I asked my mom if it was successful. She said that they didn't do it!
During the procedure, my doctor tried for an hour to get my heart to go into aFib, but it never did. And to this day, it hasn't done it again.” —Jackie Williams, 38, medical secretary, Florida
In the scientific arena, studies are hard to do about the power of prayer due to the difficulty of measuring the variables that need to be included. However an article entitled Does Religious Activity Improve Health Outcomes by Basak Coruh, Hana Ayele, Meredith Pugh and Thomas Mulligan concluded after randomized controlled trials, clinical trials and partnerships with faith-based organizations that “Religious activity may improve health outcomes.”
As Michael Dlouhy says, “Go figure!”
Thanks to Linda and Michael for helping us build faith in ourselves and beyond by creating this safe mastermind group where we can stretch the understanding of our own power and recharge weekly.
