CHAPTER 8 DECISION: THE MASTERY OF PROCRASTINATION

The Seventh Step toward Riches

“ACCURATE analysis of over 25,000 men and women who had experienced failure, disclosed the fact that LACK OF DECISION was near the head of the list of the 30 major causes of FAILURE. This is no mere statement of a theory—it is a fact. PROCRASTINATION, the opposite of DECISION, is a common enemy which practically every man must conquer.”  -- Napoleon Hill

What a profound statement? Is it really? Who does not PROCRASTINATE about something almost daily? I do. Some tasks may be small and not have a very high priority. Others may have a very high priority, but there is something almost daily I wish I had done.

Hill says, after getting accurate, truthful information, successful people reach decisions promptly, and change their decisions slowly. While unsuccessful people have the habit of reaching decisions, if at all, very slowly and changing those decisions quickly and often.

Henry Ford had those qualities. Some said to his disadvantage when manufacturing the “Model T.”

All we have to do is look around to see that most people who fail to become financially independent are usually influenced by the opinions of others. These people tend to listen to the TV, Newspapers and their negative neighbors. These people are not critical thinkers. They let others make their decisions.

In a coming lesson we will see, FEAR + DOUBT = INDECISION

You have a brain and a mind of Your own. Use it!

TELL THE WORLD WHAT YOU INTEND TO DO, BUT FIRST DO IT!

The frames of the Declaration of Independence can be traced to the First Continental Congress held in Philadelphia, September 5, 1774. Without this mastermind group and the influence of Hancock and Adams, there would not have been a signing of the Declaration of Independence.

All these men, from Hancock, Adam, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee, and others had no power, no strength, no authority, no military strength, and no money. Finally, the Declaration of Independence was drawn up.

What would You do in a similar situation, knowing if You signed such a document, You were signing Your death warrant?

Would You not agree with me, the decisions we are required to make here in these lessons are far from the danger outlined by these men? So why is it so hard for us to make them? Why does it seem, most people who download Success In 10 Steps never get past Step 2? Even fewer come here to learn from these lessons and while using the Pro System.

I am puzzled by their lack of desire.
