Hill tells us that plain words without emotion will do us no good and it is ineffective when doing our self talk. I have no problem generating emotion these days. All I have to do is look up at all the pictures of Amy above my desk and the memories that go with them and there is no lack of it, in fact many times it still brings me to tears. He also stresses the use of concentration and I have noticed that in the last two or three lessons Michael does the same. I think it would be safe to say that concentration is basically the same thing as visualization which I was not doing for the longest time.

Hill goes into detail about using the senses when visualization, BELIEVING you are already in possession of the thing you are visualizing. Let’s face it, if you don’t believe what you are doing will work why even go through the steps? Every thing that he tells us to do in this great book is like a huge puzzle, if any one of the pieces are missing it is just not complete and won't work. Visualization was a huge piece of that puzzle and I wasn’t taking time to do it and it stuck out like a huge hole that could only be filled by that missing piece. Hill tells us “If you choose to follow some of the instructions but neglect, or refuse to follow others-you will fail! To get satisfactory results, you must follow ALL instructions in a spirit of FAITH”. he is referring to the self confidence formula with that statement but I think it applies to most everything in this book.

One more thing he says is “all sense impressions which are perceived through the five senses, are stopped by the CONSCIOUS thinking mind, and may be either passed on to the subconscious mind, or rejected, at will. The conscious faculty serves, therefore, as an outer-guard to the approach of the subconscious.” So the conscious mind is a gatekeeper that can be used to stop thought’s that we don’t want passed on to the sub conscious or pass it on using our self talk combined with emotion. But there is a slight problem. Those thoughts that can be passed on if we are not AWARE! Louise Bannerman stated in a lesson last week that she was passing on self talk that was detrimental to her desired outcome, just a couple of little words but they were really huge. Without a little self examination and awareness she could have continued on in the same path. It is very important to be totally aware of the words we use in our self talk.

My sincere thanks to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for creating this system that has changed so many lives and for my friends and mastermind partners who share your brilliance with me weekly.
