Think and Grow Rich
Thoughts are Things
This first chapter in Napoleon Hill's book, Think and Grow Rich, gives several examples of the power of thoughts. What each of them demonstrate is; what you think about with DESIRE can come about, or put another way, “whatever you BELIEVE, you can CONCEIVE”. One of my favorite sayings, is “Whether you think you can or you think you can't-your right.”
There are many ways to say the same thing, but one thing people have to remember is that your state of mind will determine whether you get something you dream of or something that you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. If you have a 'lack' mentality; saying things like “I don't have...,” “I can't do...,” “I'm never...” or any of the “I'm not...” will get you just that-nothing.
It is imperative to think of the 'possibilities'. Even if you have a serious illness, to think of the possibility that it could be cured, is better than to throw up your arms in defeat. Know what you want, have a Definite of Purpose, BELIEVE you can ACHIEVE, and have a strong burning DESIRE.
When you 'put you dream' out there to the Universe, be specific in you desire, such as Edwin Barnes' desire to be Edison's partner. Being specific will make your dream more likely.
Bottom line: Be careful what you think about because: thoughts are things.
Have a burning desire with definite of purpose.
Be aware of your thoughts and change them as soon as you notice
any negative or unwanted thoughts.
If more people knew how powerful their thoughts were, we'd have more positive people in the world.
