I have an old high school friend that was a picture of health until three months ago, always into running events or triathlons. Underneath that I'm sure that he thought there was nothing wrong with him and he would live forever but there was something there he didn’t know about. It’s called cancer, stage 4 melanoma and he didn’t even know it was there until the symptoms appeared and it was already bad…. really bad.
That's the way that it is with indecision, doubt, and fear. Hill tells us “INDECISION is the seedling of FEAR! Remember this, as you read. Indecision crystalizes into DOUBT, the two blend and become FEAR! The “blending” process often is slow. This is one reason why these three enemies are so dangerous. They germinate and grow without their presence being observed. Sometimes by the time we realize what’s going on we have already sabotaged ourselves.
Hill says it always starts with indecision. When we make a choice to do a business but approach it with an attitude like….I’ll try, I’ll give it a shot or I’ll see what happens….that’s indecision whether we want to admit it or not. Our attitude should be ….I want this more than anything and I’ll do WHATEVER IT TAKESto get it! We should be putting everything else on the side until we do…. ( I’m preaching to myself )
Hill also warns us “ Do not be deceived by the habits of these subtle enemies. Sometimes they remain hidden in the subconscious mind, where they are difficult to locate, and still more difficult to eliminate. And that’s why the word AWARENESS keeps popping into my mind with every lesson I do lately it seems. You can’t change things if you aren’t aware they exist and just continue making excuses of why things aren’t working. Michael says “ There are hundreds of excuses, just pick one. Any one will do! “ Some will just continue on down the same path of searching for the magic pill for success when the answer is right in front of them…MFF!
Again Hill says “Fears are nothing more than states of mind. One’s state of mind is subject to control and direction and every human being has the ability to completely control his own mind, and with this control, obviously, every person may open his mind to the tramp thought impulses which are being released by other brains, or close the doors tightly and admit only thought impulses of his own choice. Nature has endowed man with absolute control over but one thing, and that is THOUGHT.” And we can gain control by a powerful tool, that’s our self talk.
One last thing Hill says “There can be no compromise between POVERTY and RICHES! The two roads that lead to poverty and riches travel in opposite directions.” We have to decide which one we want in our lives and put our whole being back of it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Linda and Michael Dlouhy for your patience with us and believing in us until we have that complete assurance that we can believe in ourselves and design the life that we want to live. And thanks to all my friends and masterminds partners who are faithfully here each and every week sharing brain food with me.
