Chapter 1 - Thoughts are Things

Michael Dlouhy created 'Mentoring for Free" and he describes its
purpose in the sub title as "Where you learn How to think, not
What to think"."

Before coming to Mentoring for Free, how many of us really realized
how much our thoughts played a role in what we accomplished in this life.
Did we actually recognize what we were thinking about or did we just
think and not even notice what our thoughts were?  Were our thoughts
positive or were they negative?

Oscar Wilde has stated "Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone
else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."

Do we live our lives as we want or do we live our lives by the opinions
of others? If we live our lives according to what others think we should
do and think and feel, we are, as Oscar Wilde stated, other people.  We
are not "we".  We are then, actually, "them".

If we don't want the life they have; if we don't want the standards they
have; if we don't want to do the things they do; if we don't want the job
they have; and finally, if we want more than they do;
why are we letting other people's opinions influence our thoughts?

Thoughts are things and the biggest thing we learn here at Mentoring
for Free is to think and accept our own thoughts as valuable and then
rejoice in being "us" and not being "other people".
