Chapter 2 Desire

Hill began his book by teaching us the power of thought, that thoughts
with emotion and intention so much so that it vibrates at a high enough level
to draw to it whatever is necessary to make it manifest.

Thoughts that operate at this level take a lot of focus, and Hill demonstrates
how to achieve this with the examples he gives.  Edwin C. Barnes' strong desire
to partner with Thomas Edison is one of these.  In spite of the fact that it was five
years before his partnership with Edison manifested, Barnes maintained his focus
because "in his own mind, he was the partner of Edison every minute of the time,
from the very day that he first went to work there."  In other words he never let go
of his vision, and he maintained it at a high level of vibration until it manifested.

Part of this process was burning his bridges.  Barnes didn't have contingency plans
in case the partnership never materialized because he knew from deep in his being
that it would.  He never doubted it and he acted accordingly.

What do you desire so strongly that you are willing to maintain that kind of intensity
even when outward appearances do not appear to support your goal? Or when other
people advise you to stop wasting your time, or tell you that you are promoting a
pyramid scheme?

Hill makes it clear that this level of desire goes beyond wishing and hoping.  Rather
it starts with a dream, a vision of what is possible, and it also requires an open mind.

Are you willing to try new things?  Learn new skills?  Are you willing to say your self talk
500 times a day?  A thousand times a day?  What risks would  you be willing to take to
achieve your desire if you knew you could not fail? How willing are you to get out of a
comfortable, safe place to really create yourself as you know you were meant to be?

A good way to see your desire come to life is to use Hill's six step process for transmuting
desire into its financial equivalent by making it a part of your daily routine.  The steps are simple:

  1. Decide the exact amount of money you desire.
  2. Determine exactly what you will do in return for the money
  3. Establish a definite date when you will possess the money
  4. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and take action now...ready or not
  5. Write a clear, concise statement of the amount of money, when you will acquire it and what you will do in return for it describing the plan you will use to accumulate it.
  6. Read your written statement twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening.

If you knew this formula would result in success in your network marketing business would you use it transmute your desire
into reality?  Would you read it aloud twice daily and feel yourself in possession of the money?  Would you be willing to let
go of what is and move forward into your best vision of what is possible?

It's up to you.
