Chapter 6 Imagination
THE WORKSHOP OF THE MIND
The imagination is literally the workshop wherein are fashioned all plans created by man. The impulse, the DESIRE, is given shape, form, and ACTION through the aid of the imaginative faculty of the mind.
It has been said that man can create anything which he can imagine.
MAN’S ONLY LIMITATION, within reason, LIES IN HIS DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF HIS IMAGINATION. He has not yet reached the apex of development in the use of his imaginative faculty. He has merely discovered that he has an imagination, and has commenced to use it in a very elementary way.
The body has limitations...the MIND doesn't!!! I really enjoy building and restoring things, I can look at an old worn out rusted car and imagine it as a work of art. I can see the exact color of the interior, exterior, and even the nice and shiny wheels. I've always had an interest in cars, but there was a time that I couldn't imagine the finished product while looking at a rusted peice of metal. It took restoring a car to get the abilty to take my imagination to a whole notha level...Since joining MFF I've realized that you can do the same with people. Michael Dlouhy has an amzing talent to see the best in people before they see it in themselves, his imagination takes a person from being beaten down and defeated, to becoming a respected LEADER. I'm sure that this talent came from action and developing his mind in ways that most will never experience. Michael always says once you own your mind, you own your life!
Imagination is only the starting point of owning your mind. Ideas are the beginning points of all fortunes. Ideas are products of the imagination. Hill has stated that you're only one idea away from success. Generally speaking, an idea is an impulse of thought that impels action, by an appeal to the imagination. All master salesmen know that ideas can be sold where merchandise cannot. Ordinary salesmen do not know this - that is why they are “ordinary."
Any idea, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought. Man, alone, has the power to transform his thoughts into physical reality. Set your mind on a definite goal and observe how quickly the world stands aside to let you pass. Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle. Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success. There are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge.– Napoleon Hill
I'm no where near owning my mind at this very moment, but Hill states that it takes time and one must study this book over and over. Do not become discouraged if you do not fully comprehend all that has been stated. Unless you have long been a student of the mind, it is not to be expected that you will assimilate all that is in this chapter upon a first reading. But you will, in time, make good progress. The principles which follow will open the way for understanding of imagination. Assimilate that which you understand, as you read this philosophy for the first time, then, when you reread and study it, you will discover that something has happened to clarify it, and give you a broader understanding of the whole. Above all, DO NOT STOP, nor hesitate in your study of these principles until you have read the book at least THREE times, for then, you will not want to stop.
It's a pleasure to have such a great MENTOR that uses his mind to full capacity and freely shares his knowledge with everyone in this amazing mastermind. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!!
Thank you so much for teaching us to be critical thinkers and encouraging us to own our minds.
Control your life or someone else will. Control of your life starts with controlling your mind, you have to be strong and courageous, and know that you can do anything you put your mind to.
