Many have heard the false statement all through life that It takes money to make money and really that it nothing more than an excuse not to succeed. Michael always says there are hundreds of excuses, just pick one. All you have to do is read the story of Barnes to nuke that idea right out of the water. All Barnes had in his favor was a state of mind, a desire to become the partner of Edison. Barnes literally thought himself into a partnership with the great Edison! He thought himself into a fortune. He had nothing to start with, except the capacity to KNOW WHAT HE WANTED, AND THE DETERMINATION TO STAND BY THAT DESIRE UNTIL HE REALIZED IT.
In the example of the little girl and Barnes both individuals knew exactly what they wanted and were rock solid on what they came to get and were not backing down for anything, persisting until it happened. That is the difference in them and Darby. Darby quit at the first sign of failure and that’s what most do in life. Darby did quit that venture but he did learn three very important things.
- He recalled his mistake in having stopped only three feet from gold, “but,” he said, “that experience was a blessing in disguise. It taught me to keep on keeping on, no matter how hard the going may be, a lesson I needed to learn before I could succeed in anything.”
- He also learned to analyze the two instances of the gold disappointment and how the little girl succeeded to learn from his mistakes.
- He learned to seek expert counsel and this is huge!
In the past I have tried and failed many times, always trying to figure this stuff out on my own. Now I have expert counsel through MFF so I don’t have to hope and wish anymore. All I have to do is learn and take action.
Thanks to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for believing in us and making this all happen and thanks to all my friends and mastermind partners for sharing their brilliance.
