Chapter 15 - How to Outwit the Six Ghosts of Fear

"Fears are nothing more than a state of mind." states Napoleon Hill

The quality of any area of our life depends on our "state of mind".

Dale Carnegie tells us "Fear doesn't exist anywhere except in the mind."
Yet we allow fear to creep in and delay, hamper, totally stop the things
we want to accomplish because we are afraid to do things because we
think we will fail.

My question is "Who cares if we fail?"  We are the only ones who really care.
Yet we place so much emphasis on the failure and forget that instead of failure
we may have success.  And then who cares - only we do!  Our friends and family
really do not care because it does not do anything to their lives if we fail
or succeed.

Norman Vincent Peale said "Action is a great restorer and builder of confidence.
Inaction is not only the result, but the cause, of fear. Perhaps the action you take
will be successful; perhaps different action or adjustments will have to follow. But
any action is better than no action at all."

Henry Ford was a man of action.  He did not care what others thought, he decided what
he wanted and went ahead to get it and would not stop until he got what he wanted
and he is known to have said "One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of
his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do."

What we need to outwit the six ghosts of fear is to have a positive "Action State of Mind".
