With persistence will come success. If this is true, then what is persistence and how can I obtain it? How can I answer this question?

We know that a baby learns to walk by Persistence, a teenager learns to drive a car by Persistence. In both insistence, these individuals can see in their minds eye what they want to accomplish.

Knowing what one wants is the first and perhaps the most crucial step toward the development of persistence. The baby and the teenager know instinctively what they want. No one had to explain it to them, they just knew. In this case a strong motive forces one to surmount many difficulties.

In our lives we must overcome many difficulties that stand between us and noteworthy achievement. Napoleon Hill list 16 weakness that must be mastered. There are two major weaknesses that must be overcome to have noteworthy success, first is failure to recognize and clearly define exactly what one wants and second is the fear of what other people will think, do, of say. As we can see in baby these are over come because they are not recognized being persistence, they only have the desire. In the teenager, pretty much the same, the desire is so strong that they persist at any cost.

By relying on our instincts and following our instincts we can and will be persistent. It is when we listen to others and not follow out instincts that we become less and less persistent.

Wishing and Willing: As we can see in both cases of the baby and the teenager, both where not ‘wishing’ to accomplish their goal, they were ‘willing’ to accomplish it. Where there is a will there is a way.
