Chapter 6

Imagination

It has been said that man can create anything which he can imagine. ~ Napoleon Hill

I love that statement!  Why?  Because it unleashes all sorts of possibilities.  For my entire life, I have been a dreamer.  It was not unusual for me to escape my reality by imagining a different set of circumstances in my head.  I was telling myself a story.  (Maybe I should be a writer!)

It was not until I started going through the Think and Grow Rich Lessons that I began to realize that my stories could become my reality!  Now instead of escaping reality, I imagine what my desires will look like, seeing them as becoming a reality.  All the while, being present in the moment and working toward my future.

Hill says there are 2 forms of imagination:  Synthetic and Creative.  Creative imagination is what I was explaining above.  It involves creating new ideas by hunches and inspirations.  Synthetic Imagination makes use of old concepts, ideas, and plans and uses experience, education, and observation.

Hill says that our imagination faculty may become weak with lack of use.  I am thankful that I was always a dreamer.  It is actually easy for me to imagine my innermost desires and see them as reality.  For those who have not used their imaginations, they must begin to exercise this faculty until they actually see their desires as a reality.

I will leave you with another quote from Hill:

IDEAS CAN BE TRANSMUTED INTO CASH THROUGH THE POWER OF DEFINITE PURPOSE, PLUS DEFINITE PLANS. – Napoleon Hill

I want to thank Michael and Linda Dlouhy, Karla and John Wiser, and all of the other great leaders here at Mentoring for Free.  I cannot and WILL NOT imagine my life without the creative forces in this group!

To our Mutual Success,
