Chapter 5. Specialized Knowledge
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, PERSONAL EXPERIENCES OR OBSERVATIONS
The Fourth Step toward Riches
“The goal of education is not to increase the amount of knowledge but to create the possibilities for a child to invent and discover, to create men who are capable of doing new things”. Jean Piaget
Hill states “THERE are two kinds of knowledge. One is general, the other is specialized. General knowledge, no matter how great in quantity or variety it may be, is of but little use in the accumulation of money. The faculties of the great universities possess, in the aggregate, practically every form of general knowledge known to civilization. Most of the professors have but little or no money. They specialize on teaching knowledge, but they do not specialize on the organization or the use of knowledge”.
General knowledge is available to everyone, it can be found in the Great Libraries of the World where it is catalogued and in today’s world through the Internet. Most people believe that great knowledge is power and will attract wealth. Not true, knowledge will only gain power when it is organised.
Hill points out that the organisation of knowledge is not taught in any of the educational organisations of the world, as is shown by the fact that most university professors of his day possess great knowledge, but are poor. This has changed to some degree and some professors now organise their knowledge in many fields of research and development through the post doctorial work of their students.
It is in the specialised knowledge and it organisation that the real power of knowledge evolves. Where does specialised knowledge come from, “research”, caused by a dream or idea, which by the steps described in the previous chapters becomes an all consuming desire in the mind of the dreamer. Like general knowledge, specialised knowledge in catalogued, but unlike general knowledge is not available for “FREE”. It is only available through extra training and education by way of university and night school courses or by correspondence.
Hill gives us two examples of the application of specialised knowledge and its conversation into riches. In the first circumstances dictated a career change, and through IMAGINATION, gaining of specialised knowledge developed a mobile accounting practice. In the second the lady already had specialised knowledge in calligraphy, typing together with authorship. Through Hill foresight he brought these two persons together to produce a document expounding the virtues of the new accounting method available to small business.
The Lady went on to produce a document using the newly acquired organised specialised knowledge to produce a “Résumé” for her recently graduated son, summarising not only his academic achievements but also contained ideas for changes to the operation of the organisation should he obtain the position. She further developed this into a business producing documents for person desirous of obtain increase monetary rewards for their service.
In the field of Network Marketing a college or university qualification is not a prerequisite, anyone who is prepared to take action and be coachable can succeed and gain the riches that this business can yield. However most people believe that it is “selling business”, wrong it is a relationship building business. The majority of people do not know how to build relationships and thus fail. Relationships are built by understanding first the person’s Character Colour. The determination of this is a skill that can only be fully comprehend training and attending live calls and the discussion after the calls. Mentoring for Free has such training freely available three times a week, the calls being interactive.
There are other skills which must be learnt and applied, particularly in this digital age of Social Media. Within the Mentoring for Free System there exists a wealth of knowledge available through the Mentors, together with training within the Achieves and all aspects of the Business. You only have to search or ask and you will be guide and coach on any particular aspect.
Throughout my working life I have encountered many problems and obstacles, many being solved by simply being shown what to do, as in learning the Hotel Industry and running a Petrol Station. The Network Marketing Business has been a new challenge in that I have had to learn many new skills but I believe I will succeed since I am coachable and have learnt new skills of listening, speaking up and sharing my knowledge and experiences, together with being humble enough to ask questions when I don’t understand.
