Think and Grow Rich

Chapter 9 - Persistence

Hill states: persistence is a state of mind, so it can be cultivated.  Like all states of mind.

Bob Proctor is a good example of being persistent.

Bob Proctor’s life didn’t start out the way you might imagine.  He was born in Ontario, Canada.  He came from a life of want and limitation.  Bob Proctor dropped out of high school in ninth grade.  He had a number of low paying jobs only making a few thousand dollars a year.

The major turning point came when he was 26 years old.  His friend gave him the book Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill.  This book motivated Bob to change his mindset, and by studying the principles behind Think and Grow Rich, he went from making a few thousand dollars a year to $175,000 a year to making over $1 million a year.  Bob Proctor accomplished this transformation by starting a company washing floors which quickly grew to cover corporate offices in Toronto, Boston, Cleveland, Atlanta, Chicago and London.

In 1961, Bob moved to Chicago to work with his real-life mentor, Earl Nightengale.  After rising to the position of Vice President of Sales, he established his own seminar company.  Bob Proctor now travels the globe, teaching thousands of people how to believe in and act upon the greatness of their own minds.

Bob Proctor was given a gift.  He took his gift which became his burning desire, filled it with faith and emotion and kept going.  Persistence, Persistence, Persistence.  Now he has his own multi-million dolllar empire.

Hill states: It is the privilege of writing your own ticket and of making life yield whatever price is asked.
