The Subconscious Mind
The Connecting Link
The Subconscious Mind is in many ways a mystery in its operation. However its functions can be divided into three main areas, as storage facility, a communication Centre and filter or gateway for thoughts that may pass from the conscious thinking mind of man into the subconscious mind.
As storage facility it receives and classifies and then files all thoughts or impulses received from the five senses. It acts similarly to the filing cabinets to be found in any office, allowing files (thoughts) to be withdrawn, used and returned. There is however one major difference whilst thoughts can be recalled used and returned as with a normal filing cabinet, all files (thoughts) in the subconscious mind are permanent, they cannot be deleted. This is why psychologists, psychiatrist and counselors often take clients back into their past to find the root cause of a problem.
As a communication center it acts as both the transmitting element and the receiving element. Performing similarly to a radio station stepping up the vibrations associated with thoughts (sounds in the case of a radio station) to very high frequency which may be transmitted through the ether to infinite intelligence or other brains. Similarly when acting as a receiving station it receives the high frequency vibrations from infinite intelligence or other brains stepping them down into thoughts, hunches and ideas which are transmitted briefly to the think part of the mind and if not written down are lost.
The final function of the Subconscious Mind is as a filter or gate between the conscious thinking mind and the Subconscious Mind. Negative thoughts pass through unheeded whilst positive thoughts must be placed through the filter into the subconscious mind. Control of the gate is within to power of a person and by the use of self talk positive thoughts, negative thoughts can be excluded and thus there influence controlled. It is a known fact that positive and negative thoughts cannot coexist. This is why self talk is so influential on controlling or subconscious mind and also changing our thought patterns and how we think. We change from "What to think to how to think".
Thank you Michael and Linda for this 'How thinking Group" and all the mind changing thoughts from these lessons each week.
