Chapter 12

The Subconscious

Before you read my lesson here, I want to start off with asking you some questions. First, look at every object around you. You see that TV over there? How about your computer that you are looking at right now (or smartphone for some people)? Or even the Empire State building?

You see, every object that you just saw or pictured were all thoughts at one point. There is an old saying that “Thoughts are things.” And most people have always wondered what they really mean with this cliché. It is such a simple saying but so powerful. Every object on this earth, including yourself, were all created from images from the subconscious.

Therefore, if every object is created from the thoughts in the subconscious, then we have to protect the thoughts that we think about daily. The subconscious is very gullible and will imagine anything that is put in a picture. They say that a confused mind doesn’t act. Why? Because your subconscious can’t picture it. For example, go back to when you were first introduced to network marketing. When you joined, you joined for a reason. Maybe it was to make more money, time, go on a vacation, fire the boss, etc. But the reason you got so excited was because your subconscious pictured what you wanted very clearly. Therefore, causing you to act and join.

Back when I was growing up, I had to be around 10 years old at this time. I just got done with a football game, and my dad told me something that I will never forget (aka my subconscious remembers this picture very clearly). Even though football was my favorite sport at the time to play, my dad told me that I had a better future in baseball because I had talent that wasn’t usually seen at that age. Once my dad told me that, I instantly started picturing playing professional baseball, throwing on that Red Sox jersey, and smacking a home run. My mind made a decision that day that I was going to play professional baseball.

And as the years went on, I would always picture myself being in the big leagues. However, there was a situation that was a direct reflection from the subconscious mind. I would always imagine myself in a situation where I would come up to the plate with the bases loaded and in the bottom of the ninth inning with the game tied. And I knew that a fastball was coming from the pitcher. So as the pitcher threw the ball, I smacked a game winning hit. Well guess what situation came up for me in my last professional baseball game? You guessed it, it was the bottom of the ninth inning of a tied ball game and two outs. The pitcher ended up throwing me a fastball that I hit off the wall for the game winning hit. That, my friend, is how the subconscious works.

The subconscious will picture whatever you feed it. And the more you feed it, the more likely those thoughts becomes reality. That is why it is key to visualize daily. Visualize yourself getting eBook downloads, making calls, building rapport, helping others, and people joining your business. That is why our vision board is such a key in this too. Just like Michael guarantees success if you are coachable and follow the Blueprint, I will guarantee you that if you visualize yourself achieving your goal, it will happen. It might not be overnight, but it will happen. Remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint.
