Chapter 6 imagination

The workshop of the mind

The fifth step toward riches

As I started to read this chapter my mind recalled the John Lennon song “Imagine”. The words being as follows:

Imagine there's no heaven
it's easy if you try
no hell below us
above us only sky
imagine all the people living for today

Imagine there's no countries
it isn't hard to do
nothing to kill or die for
and no religion too
imagine all the people living life in peace.

You may say I’m a dreamer
but I’m not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
and the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
no need for greed or hunger
a brotherhood of man
imagine all the people sharing all the world.

You may say I’m a dreamer
but I’m not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
and the world will be as one.

I sat for a while meditating on the lyrics and watching a number of different Utube versions, and tried to visualise the things he mentioned. When God created the World he created something of beauty in which every part and thing had a definite purpose, the night, the day, the sun, moon, etc., I believe this was the image Lennon was seeing when he wrote the lyrics.

There are two types of Imagination, Synthetic and Creative. The most used of the two being Synthetic. Synthetic imagination uses and rearranges previous ideas, thoughts and designs to create a new idea or object. An architect uses either his own thoughts and ideas or those of clients and arranges them into building, house or a landscape garden to meeting present goal.

Creative Imagination is used by artist such as painters, musicians and writers for their work are in the main original and therefore creative overall. Professionals such as engineers, scientist and computer programmers revert to creative imagination when a solution cannot be found using and rearranging ideas, etc. in Synthetic Imagination.

In my work for my Master Degree it was necessary to use creative imagination to devise a completely new mechanical testing device, since I was testing a material in a way not normally required. Similarly in solving complex problems associated with the construction of new buildings, bridges and other structures creative imagination had to be employed. The new buildings in Dubai posed problems for the engineers due to the sandy nature of the ground and the weight of the proposed high rise building. Here complex computer modelling was employed to calculate the loads that the sand had to stand and reduce this to an allowable and safe loading. Creative computer modelling of various ideas and designs were used to come up with a final solution.

In our MLM Business we in the main use Synthetic Imagination; however creative imagination comes into use when we try new marketing methods such as video, writing the script for the same together with the necessary animation.

For the majority of us our creative Imagination has become dormant and has to be re awakened. We do this via the training calls here a Mentoring for Free, where there is training on how to use Facebook, Instragram and so on. It is when we start to use these social media programs that we awake our Creative Imagination and begin to place our own individuality on the creation that will attract people to us so that we can build relationships with them. In IBO Toolbox it is necessary to be able to write creative copy to bring people to us.

Thank you to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for this wonderful training system, teaching not what to think but how to think. To all the trainers who freely give of their general and specialized knowledge each week to enhance our knowledge and move us forward not only as achievers in this wonderful industry, but also in our personal development.
