Chapter 3 – Faith
Napoleon Hill says: “FAITH is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind, through the principle of autosuggestion.” What I heard from people around me when I was young was “to have faith” when I didn’t. And I didn’t have a clue how to get this faith they were talking about. Looking back to successful parts of my life, I see that I followed Mr. Hill’s definition of faith, and I continue to do it with MFF.
Every week I follow Mr. Hill’s definition of faith as I write a lesson for T&GR. Starting with a virtual blank page, I begin writing with no idea of what my lesson will be. Words start to flow, lines and paragraphs appear, disappear, reappear and are shifted around. TAMH and I get my lesson done seemingly from the ether. TAMH – Then A Miracle Happens. I made a commitment to submit a lesson each week. I tell myself that it will be done. I have no idea what it will be, yet, every week I offer something to the group.
In network marketing you’ll follow Mr. Hill’s definition of faith to build your business. After being beaten and battered by other MLM companies, you come to MFF. You learn how to think and not what to think. It’s a process that takes time to unlearn what you’ve been taught from a very young age. You keep at it, repeating to yourself that this system works as long as you work. So you do the work, refining your self-talk, getting rid of the sound bites in your head from negative outside influences, thinking critically, “turning off the chatter.”
It might takes weeks, months or a year. TAMH and you begin to believe that you can do this business. Things get easier the more you believe in yourself. Speaking up on the calls isn’t as scary as it used to be. Advertising for eBook downloads becomes more natural, and your agenda goes away. Between starting MFF and TAMH is work and commitment to grow into the leader that will take you to the next level.
