Chapter 6-Imagination-The Workshop of the Mind!
To make use of our imagination, we need an idea that has a burning desire to be put into action. In March of this year, I moved to Tucson, Arizona with the idea that I would be closer to my family.
Since that time, I have been told many times by my family that I will be restricted in my activities because of my age and because my husband not being able to do this or that for the same reason. This is something
that I refuse to accept. It has been mainly my husband that has been the target because of the fact he was not used to the heat we have in Arizona; as a result he has taken falls and not been prepared by having water to drink
and wanting to walk further than he was able. He has learned and is now taking precautions. The only handicapp he has now is that he has to walk with a walker. I was told that he will probably have to walk with a walker the
rest of his life. This I can't accept. I want to tell you now that today after his walk with his therapist she said he can prgress to a walker that has four wheels instead of two and he will use a brake when going down an incline. This is
a great step forward and by using my patience which is the test for me I feel that he will walk without a walker. He needs much encouragement which I will give him. I know that this will not be easy for me.
Persistence, patience, encouragement, and planting the idea that he is able to do it will be what I need.
I also have a purpose because I want a companion when I go traveling in the future.
Thank you for letting me share. Thank you Mastermind for all the encouragement that we all share especially my mentor, Tuula Rands.
