Chapter 4

The great Earl Nightingale once said, “We become what we think about most of the time.” If we think we are successful, then we will be successful. If we think we are a failure, then we will fail. After going through the Think and Grow Rich book multiple times, this chapter is starting to become more clear on what Earl stated. See, at first I didn't fully understand what that old saying meant, and how it could be true. But as I have gone through the Think and Grow Rich, been on the calls, and applied what I have learned, I have seen this magic work first hand.

A couple of months ago marked my one year anniversary as a civil engineer with my firm. Throughout my first year, I had a thought on my mind quite a bit about getting a raise. I kept thinking about that raise over and over like a CD in the car replaying the same song. Well, a couple of weeks ago as I was out to eat with my parents, I got a message from my boss at work. He wanted to inform me that I was getting a raise. And all my mind can think about was how this magic of self talk really works.

How about another example. In the month of April in my network marketing business, I wanted and had a desire to reach this goal of mine to get this incentive for the month. From the very first day of the month to the last day of the month, I had that goal on my mind and in my self talk. When May 1st came around, my goal was reached.

The mind is a beautiful thing. It can supply us with the thoughts that we want, and give us the desire to achieve those thoughts. Therefore, let's make a decision right now to not let our minds go to waste.

I'm proud to be on this journey with every single person on this call. We all help each other in more ways than we can imagine.
