Chapter 2 Desire
THE STARTING POINT OF ALL ACHIEVEMENT
The First Step toward Riches
Hill tells us in Chapter 1 that Thoughts are things and powerful things, but just because they are powerful does not manifest them into reality. They are manifested into reality by the mixing of them with human emotions. They are transformed from thoughts or dreams into a powerful thing called a passionate desire.
We have all had desires throughout our lives our first girl or boy friend, young boys in my era dreamed of being a train driver or fighter pilot. With time the desires diminished and became no more, being replaced by new desires which in many cases dwindled in a memory. However as we grew older and matured these desires became mixed with strong human emotions of love, faith and possibly sex. They were no longer just a desire but became a passionate desire to be pursued with all the energy generated from the human emotions.
Barnes original dream of becoming Edison’s Associate drove him to take a freight train and present himself to the Great Man looking like a tramp, resolved to do whatever it took to achieve his dream, never considering failure or quitting. Marshal Fields resolve to rebuild the tallest building, on the site of his previous store, now in the ruins from the Chicago fire along with Hills own definite desire that his Son should hear as a normal person show the power of passionate desires.
In my own case I have several passionate and definite desires. Firstly that the house I now rent shall be the next house I own and will be my home for the rest of my life. Secondly I will accomplish a minimum of Presidents Team in my MLM Company or beyond. I have written these definite desires down, as set out in this chapter, together with others which will allow me financial freedom to help other people achieve their desires of better health, an active lifestyle and financial freedom. I will not quit from these desires like others before me I have burnt the bridges behind me.
Thank you Michael and Linda for showing me that I should never give up on my thoughts and dreams. I am now using my Brain in the ‘how to think’ mode rather that the ‘what to think’ mode.
